Along the Road

How often you fear the road ahead
How often you dread the unknown
How often, too, do you tend to forget
That You never walk alone
.For there's One who well knows where you're going
He's sure every step of the way,
For long, long ago He walked the same path
That you and I travel today.
And He understands every misgiving,
,for fear is a part of us all,
But in faith make each step firm and steady,
And the Father will not let you fall.
Just remember He's walking beside you
With  love that will never fail,
His arm around your shoulders,
His eye upon the trail.

Selvin UMC congregation supports several local, national and foreign missions. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is one of the first organizations to respond here in our country and countries all over the world in times of disaster or need. Besides our support of UMCOR and tithe payments to SW District and Indiana Conference, we have also supported these local organizations:

Evansville Youth Home
Bread of Life
Red Cross
Salvation Army
Santa Claus Campground
Ruth’s House
Tecumseh After-Prom

Tecumseh Graduation night
Lynnville Backpack Program
INUMC - Hour of Sharing
Chandler Food Pantry
Gilda's Club

Families in our communities as needs are made known

Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives is the perfect opportunity for a future that only He can see.

Art and Jane Schneidewind are Selvin UMC’s Snowbirds. Art and Jane hail from Nashotah,Wisconsin (north of Milwaukee).
Several years ago they bought a cabin on Yellowbanks Lake. To them the winters of Southern Indiana seem pretty mild compared to weather up north. Art and Jane travel back and forth between their two homes according to their schedule and the weather. We really enjoy having them as a part of our congregation. They participate in the choir and recently joined our Wednesday evening Bible Study.
Art has set up and maintains our church web-site and has also published a church directory. We very much appreciate Art and Jane’s ministry in our church.

Heilman G.B. Food Pantry

We are supporting the food pantry with special offerings given on Communion Sundays. Donations will also be accepted at any time and envelopes are available for this purpose. Checks should be made out to Selvin United Methodist Church with a notation to be given to the Heilman food pantry. The donations and offerings will be kept separate from our regular Sunday offerings and tithes.

This will help the Heilman church in keeping their shelves stocked with the items they need at any particular time.

Thanks for your support in this important mission for our church and community.

Our church also supports other needs in our community. If you know of someone or a family in need, please contact Pastor Karen or Steve to see if we can be of help.
